Debra Flax MS, CPNP, PMHS

Ms. Debbie joined our practice in late 2009. Ms. Debbie recently moved to Maine and no longer sees patients on a full-time basis.  Ms. Debbie loves Dawson Pediatrics and all her babies.  She plans to remain a part of the Dawson Pediatric family by covering for other providers during their absences.  We're so excited she be here from time to time!  She was born in New Jersey, and attained her nursing degree from Russell Sage College in 1975. Prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner, she worked as a Pediatric Intensive Care Nurse for 20 years. Subsequently, Debbie attended Georgia State University and received her Masters in Nursing and became a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in 1995. Since then she has worked as a primary care provider. Prior to coming to Dawson Pediatrics, she worked at Scottish Rite Medical Center, as well as at private practices in Alpharetta and Cumming. Debbie specializes in Pediatric Mental Health and is certified as a Pediatric Primary Care Mental Health Specialist.  Debbie is married to Rob, a medical researcher and they have two children; Emily, a UGA senior, and Simon, a graduate student at Georgia Tech.
